Question: Can you work under pressure?
This is something the interviewer might ask you to gauge your ability to cope with challenges in the workplace. A good way to address this question is by sharing a scenario or experience that would convince him or her that you can thrive under pressure. Avoid saying that there has never been a time when you ever felt any pressure.
Sample answer: “I know that I can handle pressure extremely well because I’ve already gotten used to working with strict deadlines and last-minute changes at my current job, and it has never had a negative effect on my performance.”
Question: Are you willing to relocate?
This question is usually asked by hiring managers to assess the level of commitment you are willing to offer in case your working situation changes in the future. The best way to answer this is by being completely honest. However, it’s important that you don’t overreact to this question. Regardless of how you feel about relocating, remember to stay calm and reasonable. There are many ways to answer this question, but make sure to emphasize your dedication to the position.
Sample answer: “I am very interested in this position, and if relocating is a part of the job, I would certainly consider it.”
Question: How would you describe your work style?
When answering this question, don’t forget to mention attributes that would make you the best candidate for the job.
Sample answer: “I am a hard worker and I have rarely missed a day at work. I am always willing to come in early and stay longer hours to finish important tasks and achieve the best results.”
Question: Why are you leaving your current job?
Regardless of your reason for leaving, avoid talking negatively about your current job. Instead, prepare an answer that focuses on the future and casts you in the most positive light.
Sample answer: “As much as I love my current job, I’ve already learned all that I can in my position, and I’m excited to take on new challenges, so it’s a good time to move on.”
Question: What would be your ideal working environment?
With this question, the interviewer is trying to assess your personality and how you would fit in if they hire you. Focus on describing an environment that provides employees with opportunities for growth and development.
Sample answer: “My ideal work environment is one where there’s a good sense of team spirit. I enjoy working as part of a highly committed and professional team and I find that I work best in an environment that is empowering and positive, regardless of how difficult the job is.”
Other Interview Tips:
- Speak clearly and enthusiastically about your experience and skills.
- Be positive at all times. If possible, avoid sharing negative experiences.
