If you enjoy observing microscopic organisms, then this is the perfect job for you. You can earn as much as $87,000 a year if you land this position in any government sector. Your job responsibilities will involve examining the relationship between organisms and disease transmission.


This position is closely related to a microbiologist in a sense that you will also conduct scientific experiments. As of today, the government pays its chemists an annual salary of $90,000. Government sectors that are in need of this employee are Department of Homeland Security, the Navy, and Department of Health and Human Services. Private sectors such as pharmaceutical companies also hire chemists to work for them. To qualify, you need to be highly educated – having a master’s degree or Ph.D. is also a plus.
