There are many benefits to working in the public sector including stability, regular working hours, and  generous retirement package. If you’re currently looking for a new career, you might want to consider working for the government. These are just some of the highest-paying jobs today:

 

Nurse

 

Nurses have always been in high demand. They are most likely to be hired by the Department of the Army, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Veteran Affairs.  This position may require an associate degree, a bachelor’s degree, or certification from an approved nursing program.

 

Chemist

Chemists are scientists who research, conduct experiments, analyze chemicals and develop new compounds. Their services are in demand by the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Navy. To become a professional chemist, you need a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field. Some positions also require a master’s degree or a Ph.D.
